Social Networking For SEO And Traffic

It seems that everywhere you go these days, everyone has a twitter page or a facebook account. Facebook has over 140 million active users and grows by around 600,000 new users daily. Then ther is LinkedIn which has over 30 million members.

This is all well and good, but did you know these social network sites can be used for SEO service benefits?

The popular Social networking sites include Twitter, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Digg, reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace amongst others. Now you dont need to be visiting these sites and chatting away your day, but you can have your brand name on these sites and have all your blog posts sent to them automatically.

Most of these sites also let you put your site’s URL on your profile page. Some sites, like LinkedIn, allow you to add more than one link, so take advantage of those links. Here are some networks you may want to join:-

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the social networking tool for business. Each of your company’s employees can create an individual profile and network with others.

Facebook

You can add a link to your Web site in your Facebook profile and your able to get your blog rss feed added to this popular site.

Twitter

You can add your rss feed to Twitter so that every time you post an article it gets seen on Twitter. You can also attract followers and ask visitors to Tweet you.

Mixx

A link from your Mixx profile and you can submit links to Mixx which helps with SEO efforts.

MySpace

On MySpace, there are no places where your link “counts” for SEO purposes. However, if your MySpace account has traffic and visitors, it still may help drive some traffic to your Web site.

While many social networking opportunities allow you to enter a link back to your Web site in your profile on their site, the opportunities to gain SEO benefits from these links vary from site to site.

But having at least a Twitter and Facebook account will show that you are a ‘with it’ Company at least.
