Your website title is one of the most important elements to look at when improving your websites seo rankings .
If you look at the html code in your website you will find at the beginning something called meta tags. And in those tags will be your website page title. It looks something like this:-
<title>Website design and seo in Essex web design video marketing</title>

A title is what you can usually read at the very top of the web browser when you are visiting a website. For example my title that you should be able to read now should say:-
‘Optimisation Your Website Page Tiles To Increase Search Engine Rankings | Web design and SEO Blog’
Now that tells you exactly what your getting on this page. It is descriptive and has the keywords SEO which is what this site is all about. An example of a bad title would be ‘SKS Services add a new feature to the site’ – No keywords, not very descriptive and nobody would ever do a search for that random mish mash.
So make sure that your Title is right by doing the following:-
Make sure that it is highly relevant to the page it is on Dont make it as long as possible just to fill it with keywords. Try to make it about 5 to 12 words in length and under the 70 character limit. It needs to be unique. Make sure no other pages on your site are identical. Any keywords your using. Use in the starting part of the sentence.
If you want your company name in the title, then put it at the end. It has no relevance to what people are searching for.
By making good use of your Title combined with good content on the page will guarantee you good search engine placement.
Amazing SEO Fact – Guess what around 98% of small businesses website titles that begins with…?
The business name.
And its a BIG no no to do this. Your website title is all about your keywords and search terms. You can even put in your location. But if you must put your business name in, then put it at the end.
